This is My Circus and these are MY Monkeys

Do you ever wake up one morning and think you’re Super Mom? I did…once.

In my infinite wisdom I decided that I would pack up all three kids (6 years, 3 years, and 3 months) and head out to Costco WITHOUT BACKUP!

Spoiler atert! We survived

I don’t even like going to Costco on my own, let alone with three kids in tow. But like I said I was Super Mom that day.

I made a plan (as any good soldier should). I decided we would be there right for 9:30 when it opens. That way we could get in and out in now time. I had my list and I was sticking to it. The baby would be in her bucket seat, the 6 year old hanging onto the cart and the 3 year old in a seat. The baby would sleep and the older two would behave like little angels who deserve to be out in public. I drove an armoured truck in a war zone while manning 3 radios. I could surely take 3 kids to Costco.

Well, just like any good military plan, it failed right from the get go. We didn’t get out of the house until 10am. The baby was NOT asleep, the three year old screamed when I put him in the cart seat, and the 6 year old though it was fun to hop on and off the cart. I did have my list though!

With my list abandoned, the baby asleep (finally) and the threat of bedroom confinement for the foreseeable future, we made it in and out of Costco relatively unscathed.

I don’t know if it was the brave part of me or the crazy part of me that decided to venture out to Costco that day with three mini versions of myself, but I do know that I earned my wine that day.
